We went and checked cameras today to see how the sheds are doing in the panhandle. Most all of the bucks still carrying. We filled 2 feeders where the big bucks are frequenting 2 times a day so they will hopefully stay close. The neighboring ranch is close by but I have permission to shed hunt it also. But keeping them close makes it easier. Went for a little walk and found 2 sheds from last year (top 2) and then found this set later on. These are fresh from this year. A tad early but it is getting close. This is the buck. The sheds were over his back n the evergreen trees.

We generally wait for all of the deer to drop in our area before we go out (Mid March). Can't wait. We have started driving the grass fields in a grid, we found about 60 doing that last year. We walk the wooded areas.

Some of the places more than just myself have permission to walk. So i walk it often.
No driving in the pasture on the big ranch I hunt. So it is a lot of walking, but Lord knows I need it to lose some of my winter fluff.

Going to try my hand at it this year. Plus be a good way to find tree scrapes for next year
