This has been reported by some people as being a result of the battery cover not being screwed tight enough onto the unit. Reports are that you need to tighten the battery cover to the point where you barely see the rubber O-ring at all.

Hope this helps! If it doesn't, let us know. smile

Us? You've been on this forum for 4 days, you don't have an us or a scope.

I'm still wanting to hear more of what was promised but not delivered with the scope. It seems there was a lot of misinformation, operator error and speculation but not a lot of things that actually were promised but not delivered. Heck, people thought that the unit came with a range finder but nowhere was this advertised.

No your wrong, Freezeing of screen could be lower battery power. The battery cover being loose makes the scope power down after the shots.

Things seemed to be moving in a productive direction until certain voices appeared. Here's my vote for moving back in that direction.

I suspect with SHOT happening this week that it could potentially be another COUPLE of weeks before anything new (where the X-Sight is concerned) comes out of ATN. The guy handling my RMA didn't seem to give a second thought to blaming the holidays and SHOT prep for delays in responding...but I was told I would have my 3x back the first week of February. We'll see, I guess.

My concern at this point is that people are starting to push/ stretch the return deadlines of some distributors on the promise that EVERYTHING will be fixed in software. After those deadlines expire, whose financial burden does the scope become? ATN? This could get even more interesting.

Customer service at ATN from Sachal and Jason has been great when handling my RMA. They told me they just got a shipment of X-sights and are processing return units this week for returns for the first part of January and earlier.

Rexmitchell, Digital Zoom via software from go pro, I do it all the time. Clear as a bell, My scope has no altitude, compass that works. In fact it barley has nigh vision with all the flashing. I know its all coming via firmware updates. Will see after there new product comes out if they even pay us attention. I thought I had 5 days to return my scope, just looked at my invoice, Looks like I missed that last week so I am stuck with it.

-image stabilization
-12 hour battery life
-reticle on video (menu option to enable this is currently nonfunctional)
-mount aligned to rifle bore
-wifi firmware updates
-BDC

If memory serves, there was (now obviously premature) discussion about the app being able to feed the scope with atmospheric and ballistic data. I hope that helps.

Eric please be a little more patient. right now you can call ATN if you want a refund they will not turn you away. you are not stuck with anything. if it is your goal to get the thread locked I can request it from the moderator like all others and the ATN reps will have no place to give us updates.

First part of February? Or did you mean returns FROM the first part of of January?

Isn't the image stabilization built in and functioning? When was the reticle promised on the video? I thought the alignment issues were only on a few scopes, mine lines up fine. Discussion on the app feeding the scope ballistics info is hardly a promise from the company. Was BDC promised? The wifi updates is definitely something that would be nice to have and I did see that on the website.

If you got an RMA # the first part of January and earlier, you should be in this batch of returns but I would call to confirm.

My goal is not to lock the thread, What is aggravating is folks chime in that do not even own one and make like they know what is going on. After this post I will just keep quiet. I said my piece, not looking for a fight. Its just been a very disappointing experience for my first night vision. I do want to Thank you all for your input and I will keep watching from the side lines.

I would consider the nonfunctional-option-to-enable the reticle on video to be a big red capital promise. I do not believe stabilization is functioning at this point.

I guess my thought was that may have been a feature that was still being developed and they added in the option prior to being able to follow through with it. In my opinion, that is completely different than them advertising that you have this option before you bought it. It seems that people figured that out after they purchased it, and it wasn't a promise that didn't happen. Irritating yes, but it seems like a bonus feature that isn't working more so than something that was advertised and wasn't there. With that being said, the new firmware is supposed to fix that so it should be a non issue shortly. I know I'm working with some technicalities but there has been a bunch of info on this thread that is untrue, and that is what I'm trying to work through. People saying (not specifically you) that alot of stuff was promised and not delivered is only semi-accurate it seems at this point, with a few exceptions.

Had a conversation with the UK distributor today, they have been told that the ATN Directors are having a meeting today in Vegas to discuss the X-Sight (amongst other things no doubt!).
The directors are not happy with the X-Sight situation, and this will be high on the agenda at the meeting. They have promised the UK Distributor an update following the meeting.
Appreciate that this is third hand information, but as and when I hear more, I will post here.

Ahh...that explains why (when I called) "within 30 days" two weeks ago has become "30-60 days as of right now."

I had the scope in my hands for 3 days. They received it from me 1/2/15. At this rate, I won't have it until 2/19 or 3/19. The return deadline to my distributor has LONG expired. Anybody out there still wondering why people get frustrated with these guys?

Since some people arent able to use the search function or read the entire thread, I will spell it out for you.
To correct the reticle from moving so far off the screen its only a matter of shimming to get the scope inline with the bore then finish zeroing from there. Basic zeroing, how hard is it to get it in your heads. Yes some of the scopes came (mine as well) with the base crooked and not exactly inline but take your time and read from page one.
The other issues are a pain but they dont make the scope unusable , crosshairs in a video isnt really a nessesity its a cool add on.
We paid anywhere from 600-750 for the 5x and for the money that was spent I challenge any of you to go buy one in that price range and get what this one has out of the box.
I run mine out to 600 yds and never even get close to using the full zoom capabilities that this scope has , If you need that much zoom then I highly suggest you learn how to shoot before even trying to use this scope.
Yes we are aggravated but it will come around. If you dont like it then send it back if you want to hang then suck it up, if you dont own one then why are you even here?

I own one. I don't have it. It's collecting dust on a table somewhere at ATN for the next 4-8 weeks, apparently. Read much?

One thing I didnt see and am curious about.
If for some reason we want to go back in firmware is it possible?
Lets say I wanted to go back to 174 from 200 can we do that or are we only able to go forward with the firmware?

I suppose the only way to know would be to have the older firmware file stored somewhere and try going through the update process with the older file.

To be fair, some shipped with mounts that were so crooked, it was practically impossible to correct without a replacement. I was one of those, but was fortunate enough to get a replacement within 3 days. I know most are only slightly out if at all, but mine and a few others were horrendously bad.

That what Im doing, keeping all of them. There may be a time when I dont like what comes out in an update. Or a new one can be unstable and we may need to go back.
