Great pics. We saw one here at the house about a month ago for the first time. I've seen them around the area lakes but it's the first time I've seen one here at the house.

First time I saw in the wild was in 1983 on Lake Nacogdoches. A buddy and I were fishing and no one believed us when we told the story. Now thay have a few breeding pairs living year round in the Jackson Hill Park area of Sam Rayburn.

Nice pics. I've had several views of these birds over the years. One a little too close. That's how I know they smell pretty bad. At least when they are feeding on salmon. But it never fails to move me when I do see one.

Saw my first one on the way home this past Sunday. Was right off the side of the road near Brookshire eating something on the road. Very cool to see. Nice pictures.
