It looks like it meets the TSA requirements but I'm wondering if it is durable enough to handle the reckless baggage employees. Anyone ever flown with one of these cases or the Vinci case by chance?

Haven't flown w/that specific case but just flew with my shotgun in a Plano case and they double & triple checked the locks. Didn't make me open it up leaving Texas but coming back I had to crack it open and got a lot of attitude.
Although I did get more interest in the frozen geese I had in my carry on from the TSA but no real issues.

Just be careful, I got seriously screwed over by tsa. I bought a tsa approved case, flew from montana back home to Texas for thanksgiving, on my way back the gun case was denied. Same exact case I had already flown home with, same amount of locks and everything. The guy pried as hard as he could and cracked the case open about half an inch and said it was unnacceptable. I would advise buying a metal case that can no way be pried open.

I wouldn't fly with a gun unless is was in the hard black sealed cases like Boyt/Pelican/ and some Cabelas/Plano models.

I would not fly with a factory case because people will know what it is. I have flown with Pelican and Americase and have never had a problem with either.

This is the case I got and found it to be similar quality to the pelicans. It also has two locks included and I added a small master lock to be sure. Plano case

Forgot to mention that case has a release valve which I didn't pay attention to until the case came out pressurized. Was able to depressurize it without having to open it up.

Buy a pelican
Well worth the $ This ^ I invested in one and haven't looked back but it all depends on your budget. There are comparable cases made by Cabela's, Plano, etc., and they will all pretty much do the job equally. You just want to make sure you get one of the heavy duty ones- expect to spend $150-$200. A good rule of thumb is to buy one that you wouldn't hesitate to put your finest gun in and then jump up and down on it. I bought a Pelican because I have one of their cases for my DSLR camera and have been very pleased with its performance. The trade off is weight; They are much heavier than your standard hard sided gun case. The bonus is that they have wheels. Still I find myself carrying it more than wheeling because it becomes cumbersome when maneuvering through airport terminals, shuttle busses, trains, etc. etc. etc. I travel by air with guns 4+ times a year so for me, it was worth the investment to get something that will hold up for a lifetime. Make sure you have 2 TSA approved locks.

I have flown to Canada for the last 5 years. I brought my SBE2 in the factor case every year and have had absolutely no trouble what so ever. The case is very solid.

when we went to North Carolina my buddies Vinci case had to be fully inspected. They said it was something about the shape of the case and how it rolls on the belts...idk.
My case was just a plain lock up gun case, went through no problems.
On our way flying back, my case was the one that got inspected, his just went right on through no problems.
Beats me

My .02 : Few years back flew home for a pheasant hunt with the cousins. Got to baggage and my case (a plano) was cracked wide open and had damn tire tracks on it. Either it fell off the cart and got run over or some a-hole ran it over on purpose. Probably the former, but still luckily it was just my Mossberg 500, not something valuable. The walnut butt stock was completely cracked in half and in a pinch I had to use a roll of duct tape and splint it into a (wobbly by workable) shooting condition. After that I invested in a Pelican 1750 case and multiple cut-out foam inserts so I can pick and choose what firearm to store in it. Its big, its heavy, it was expensive....but it is durable. Don't risk a benelli in its issued case.
