It works really well but I have no idea about life.

Walnut works real good. It does a better job than corn cob for those cases that are real dirty. However I have found that it does not polish to that bright sheen that corn cob does. I use both. If I have real dirty cases I use walnut and then corn cob. The media does not really wear out, it just gets dirty. Generally I get 6-8 months use out of it, when I shoot alot.

I use the kind that Midway sells with their name on it. About 1-2 teaspoons every other use seems to work well.

I use some red rouge. It works great.

It is like a grinding or polishing compound that comes in bars. JEH7MMMAG turned me onto it. I use an old carpet knife and scrape some of it off and into the walnut shells.

I have used it. It does a fair job but is slow.
Best thing is to go to Petco and get a bag of corn cob bedding, and a bag of walnut shell bedding.
Then use some rouge and walnut shell for cleaning.
Corncob and auto polish, Flitz polish etc for polishing.
Add a few small rag soaked with mineral sprit to cut down on dust, and speed up cleaning.
