If you were to go on a whitetail hunt next year which would you choose and why? I have a connection in old Mexico and the hunt would still run me north of $4k. As for Kansas I would be making calls.

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Tamales, here's my take on it for what it's worth. If you've hunted a lot of "actual" South Texas and/or Mexico previously I'd venture up to KS; otherwise, I'd go to Mexico. The quality of outfitter at each matters too. For me, having hunted South Texas for 35+ years, I'd elect to venture north for one of those KS ghosts..

That's a hard one. Kansas for WT'a but mexico for mulies.

For $4k I'd be looking for a lease. I hunted Kansas this year and it was nice. You really do have a chance at a monster. IMO from pics that I've seen of deer taken in both areas Kansas deer seem to have more character and unique racks which is what I'm partial to. I really don't think you can go wrong either way.

They don't make tequila in Kansas. but they do saw heads off with dull machetes, so theres that.
If I send my neighbors a text and ask them to give me feedback on my lawn and plant rye into a giant dong pattern, I'm probably going to get some less than positive feedback. Same goes here.

If I was only to consider the hunting I would choose Mexico. However with all the other elements it would be Kansas.

Why take a chance of something going wrong in Mexico. and I am not talking about just the hunt. Something could go wrong on any hunt. Therefore, I would stay in the good old USA.

I have hunted outstanding places in both Mexico and Kansas. I would go with Kansas. If you need a Kansas outfitter send me a PM. Hes one of the best in the state and use to film tv shows, and has tv shows in camp (I would not recommend the week the tv camera's are there) and he has TONS of land. Send me a PM if you want the guys name. I came home empty handed archery hunting at the Kansas place, but the area is loaded with MONSTERS.
