Biggest I have seen in awhile. Came running through before the rain set in, had to give a whistle to slow him down. He had broken off his G3, few chips on other points. I Do wonder what he was fighting with. I am going to keep jaw bone so I can get him aged. I found some sheds years ago in this area that where smaller, but had similar crab claws, so I wonder... Inside spread was 17.5. Before anybody says anything, I took my orange off for the pictures.

East Texas is the new South Texas.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

I learned long ago you can't reason someone out of something they don't reason themselves into.

Nice, I hunted in the Angelina N.F. for a few seasons, just below Zavala. People i met up with there all went in with climbers/GPS, and a good flashlight. I normally hunt in the SNF/north end. Take deer every year, a few good bucks. I met an old man that hunted on muleback, down in the ANF, he took an 8-point one evening just below me that was a true monster. 160-180 would be my guess. Tough hunting down there, good job, congrats!

I used climbing sticks and latch on stand, took 40 minutes to set up. Havent seen much this year, tried several areas. I usually see does or run up deer walking in or out, but nothing this year. Begining to think something crazy happened or they got abducted by aliens.

 Dang very impressive!

East Texas is the new South Texas. Only because ARs were implemented!
