Thanks fellas! I'm still riding high on this one, neighbors hunt hard and I hadn't seen him on game cam in almost 2 weeks. This was on my FIL's farm in east texas its a tad over 200 acres and just he and I hunt it. It's mainly a pine plantation in Anderson County, to get a buck like this on camera was exciting let alone to actually get a chance at him. I sat every minute I could since the season opened, he was almost completely nocturnal on camera. My favorite stand out there sits on one of our paths that cuts through our oldest pines its 400 yds long so you see lots passing back and fourth. He crossed that path in the rain sunday evening and thanks to the good lord I was able to make the shot. My first son will be born any day and I take my lil girl out there with me every chance I get. In a few more years I'll be letting them do all the shooting and just watching, so to get a deer like this as my time is starting to wind down is awesome! Here's a few live pictures of him & one more after the kill for reference I am 6'-6" 275lbs. Have not had him scored yet but put a call in to the tyler wildlife office hoping someone from there can do it.
