George, I'm hunting just out of San Marcos, Hays Co. They are rutting and if history is any indication, they will through Thanksgiving. From then to Christmas they will be in a post rut pattern, with bigger bucks coming to corn, especially in cold weather.

I have lived in Caldwell county my whole life and now live in DFW, but my parents are still there. My mom called me and said a 10pointer was chasing does behind the house last weekend. So I would assume they are. My parents are just north of Lockhart.
