Need some suggestions from the AR guys about Rear Flip up sights and does anyone know of any decent EOtech type knock-offs that are ok? Don't have the money for the high end stuff...Wish I did.

the troy buis are good to go. you might just want to get the fixed buis from larue and save for a good red dot.

buy one, cry. forget the price and remember the quality.

The Bushnell Holosight is an EOTech without the metal guard around it. They are cheaper than the EOTech by about $100 or so.

You can get Matech BUIS off of ebay (or you used to be able to) for $40 new in the bag. These are the exact BUIS used by our troops in Iraq. I have used them on my flat tops and like them.

I also use the Troy rear BUIS. They are the most low profile sight I know of, very well made as is everything Troy. They are pricey but very good.

Another vote for Troy. Good solid unit. (I sure need to practice more with the irons, though!)

Easy.... not the same anymore... The Holosight is the same as early EOTechs, but they are not as durable, no where close, with or without a shroud,

I hear ya, it's hard to shoot with irons when you have an Eotech or Aimpoint!

I was shooting some metal plates the other day, with Eotech the gun almost aims itself, when I flipped up my BUIS I had to actually aim and concentrate. I do need more BUIS practice!!
