About this time last year there was a post about a camera that was taking pictures at 200yd of some whitetail deer that looked awesome, they said it was on auto setting and that is something that I would like to purchase. If anyone has any good recommendations I would appreciate it. Not wanting to be a professional just something that I can pull out of the box and head to the stand. Thanks.

Cheapest route will be a Super Zoom type point & shoot such as the Canon SX50 HS. Nikon, Pentax, Sony, and others make comparable cameras. Something with 36x or more zoom will get the job done.
If you want to spend money then grab a Canon or Nikon DSLR and a 600mm lens.

Thanks LandPirate. I purchased the Canon SX50HS today. Now I just wish I could send photo's to my iphone from the camera but haven't seen a card reader that would do that.

Some of Canon's cameras are Wi-Fi capable. My 6D is. I can even remotely control it by my phone or computer and send photo files via wifi. Not sure if Canon offers an accessory to make your camera wifi capable.

My canon 7D is wifi and remote capable and it is nice to have on the tripod and not be hunched over and try to be stealthy in the brush when taking wildlife photos.
The Sony is not a bad route for what you are trying to do. Problem is, you always want a little more lens to reach out and snag those distant shots.
