I was lucky enough to take this deer this morning at first light. It's not my PB, but it's a special one. I lost my dad this past January to cancer. The rifle I used was given to him from the bank he worked for 15 years as a retirement gift last fall. He never got to hunt with it. However, he was super proud of it and so am I!

Thanks everyone for the kind words. He definitely would have been the first to toast! We're hunting our family place, 240 acres just west of Newcastle, off of 926.
I'm not sure if I believe in this sort of thing, but he just might of had a hand in this. So, I'll tell you the rest of the story and you can judge for yourself. I had a doe and two yearlings at the feeder before daylight. Right after the feeder went off, this buck came out and immediately began to chase the doe. Before I could get my rifle up, they were gone. The doe eventually came to a small opening, and I knew I would have a split second to get a shot when the buck followed. As soon as the doe got to that opening she stopped, squatted and peed!! Obviously, when the buck got to that spot, he couldn't help himself, he had to get a sniff. If she hadn't of peed, I might not have ever seen him again. I don't know if Pops had a hand in it, but I guess I like the idea that he did!
