Son and I tallied up the two day total ,14 deer were seen on stand not including game cam pics
This is my neighbors home that sits on 75 acres off 779 in alba tx!
We put up two feeders and ground blinds and one tree stand! Both feeders had 2weeks worth of corn under them
Acorn trees all over in the deep stuff! All deer were crossing senderos where we have our feeders ! But not one stopped to eat at feeders or vanilla piles! I had a 10 nose to the ground right behind a doe sat morning! Of course by the time I eye judged him for the AR spread he was gone! Really tall buck.then the rest were does and basket 6/8's not much for genetics on this property! Other bucks were not interested in does at all! We did hunt the wind and treated our clothes with natural cedar brush stored in bags ! Literally had deer within 10 yards! I called a guide on fork who said this area usually kicks off the rut thanksgiving weekend! And this area you never kno what could walk up from behind 779. Try explaining all the rules these east texas counties have on does AR etc! But hey my son was happy with the movement we've seen so far! I backed all feeders of to 3 second throws so they still kno the time and dinner bell sound !

We aren't having much activity at the feeders either. Still seeing some feeding in the food plots, but have seen a big drop off in the last few days, Im guessing due to acrons dropping. Saturday morning saw a young 8 and a nice 10pt but it was too far of a shot for my daughter to take. I bow hunted this evening and had a spike come into the feeder but that is the first feeder activity Ive seen in days. We had heard the peak of the rut was supposed to be the 5th, but I think it is running later than that. We have seen less deer this year than any of the 5 years prior. We are on the sabine river bottoms 7 miles south of emory.

Yes sir I totally understand! Sunday after thanksgiving we will be sure to take our does!
Just weird how the deer here in Denton county won't leave one piece if corn on the ground!
