I'm excited about my new lease outside of Hamilton; mainly pasture, but lots of sign. I plan on hunting 'til 10 am Saturday and if no success, I'll head to Storms for something to eat. Maybe see some of y'all there?

My mom lives down Hwy 36 in Coryell county. Never hunted up in Hamilton area but I hear it's great.
If you are ever [in] Big Sandy and need medical treatment, I would go to the vet.

I'm about to head to Hamilton county right now. Parents and grandparents live in western hamilton county. I can hunt there or in northern Mills county near Caradan.
Storms is good for a greasy burger. It's a memorable taste that will have you coming back for more! I haven't been in a while though.
Aristocrats is north of the square on 281 before the Exxon. Not a bad place to eat. Kelsey is usually the weekend waitress and she's full of it.
Crossfire Cafe at Circle T Arena is good as well. Get the pork chop and thank me later. Best pork chop I've ever had. Sunday buffet is hard to beat!
Then you have your Mexican food joints. None of them really excite me. El Jardin, Taco Loco, and Ortegas are the options. Not terrible just not really noteworthy anymore.
Don't be afraid of the Chinese place on the square. It's surprisingly good for Hamilton.
If your wife likes to shop, send her to the Burlap Rose on the NE corner of the square.
If you get tired of Hamilton food before the season ends, venture on to Gustine for the city cafe. It's surprisingly good!
Good luck to all area hunters this weekend! Secure your trash before you drive away from the lease. It sure doesn't look good laying in the bar ditch

My opening day was great if you like it cold and unproductive. I did not see a thing. When I checked my camera card I only had a photo of a cat. I also had lots of corn on the ground and some protein I'd put in a tub was untouched. I went out yesterday for a late hunt and also saw nothing, but the corn was almost gone from the ground and the area was trodden down, hinting of traffic. This morning was really good. I saw a AR-legal 8-pt and a couple of does. I passed on them. I couldn't decide on the age of the buck and now I'm second-guessing myself. The buck wasn't chasing the does, but he kept a close eye on them for quite a long time and was definitely following them. My camera card showed 4 different bucks, the 8-pt being the oldest and best prospect, and at least 4 different does. I'm pleased my place is seeing some action. I 'm still thinking about the 8-pt though..???

I hunt SW of Hamilton on 2005 about 15 miles from Hamilton to Goldthwaite. Deer have always been there day and night every year on cameras until 9-30 of this year then everything changed. First everything went nocturnal then they just about all disappeared. Corn piled up under all feeders still to last weekend. Turned them all down to next to nothing. We don't pressure the deer much. No 4-wheelers driving around unless a kill is made. We have been lucky to see a couple of does and some young bucks. Seeing more yotes there this year than normal. Hope things settle down in a couple of weeks after the cold weather comes sin.
As far as food, Aristocrats is really good especially breakfast. Just plan on staying for a while, they do not get in a hurry at all. I have been there easily hour and a half to two hours in the past. Storms burgers are addictive. Hard to go home without hitting it at least once.

I travel 2005 on the way to my lease in San Saba county. They were chasing big time on the way back through Friday night. Almost got me an 8 and a 10.
