Either my custom win70 .300wsm or my rem700 bdl 25-06. Both have been shooting outstanding. Will have my spikes 556 slinging 62gr for porkers.

Have come full circle I guess. My old 270 and 300 win mag will sit at home. I will be taking my Remington 700 ADL in 243 that my grandfather gave me for Christmas in 1978. I couldn't wait to move up to a real gun and retired the 243 when I was 15 and bought my 270. Now at 46, I enjoy the little 243 again.
Joshua will be shooting the Ithaca 7mag he inherited from his great uncle. I figure the 7 mag will bark before, and much more often than my 243. I enjoy doing that A.B. I have a ole sweet 16 my Pops gave me...hate that mule kicking SOB, but he begged me don't hang this on the wall or stick it away.. I take it out once a year and cuss that TANK the whole time..LOVE a Old Weapon worn well..Hope your Son connects Sir Thank you Sir. Joshua dropped a doe Sunday with my grandfather's 1943 model 94 30-30. Even at his young age, he likes nostalgia and loves to use guns handed down from the older generations.
Talent is a gift, character is a decision.

Still deciding between the old Ruger 77 tang safety in .280 or, the real handy, tried and true Ruger 77 compact Mk II in .260. Both are topped with Nikon Buckmasters. My son will carry his Ruger 77 in .257 Rbts and we will sit together in The Double.
So she says "sure Honey, I agree, you DO need a new deer rifle..." And that, boys, is how I ended up with new living room furniture!

2nd season for my Tikka T3 Lite SS .270. Just put a Burris C4 4-14.5 on it, and practiced to 470 yards :-). Also bringing my old BLR pre-81 .243, and the CVA Elite Stalker .35 Whelen. On 4 day trip, I might give them all a turn. And..... Marlin 917V .17HMR for Turkeys.

Remington 700 BDL 30-06...I have had it a long time and do feel most comfortable with it. Maybe a Remington 243 for a back up.

Might take the old Marlin 336 out too. I'd like to smoke a piggie with it.

5th year with my Tikka T3 Lite 30-06. Will have a Sig 226 9mm on my hip. May possibly bring the AR-15 for Hogs.
Also may purchase a 6.8 SPC upper for the AR. If that happens I'll try hunting deer with that, none of my shots will be over 150 - 200 yrds. Anyone have any experience with the 6.8?
