Anyone seeing any chasing? I don't have any deer interested in corn right now. Not seeing any chasing yet either. I am just outside of Troup. What is best tactic to bring the deer in at this time of year?

I think it is still early but some chasing may be occurring. My cameras have been full until this week. Didn't have a buck on any of the 3 cameras and the number of doe dropped considerably. Acorns are dropping so that is what I am attributing it to at my place, along with the warm weather. Hopefully it will pick up this weekend with the cold front coming through.

Saturday night I had a 2.5-3.5 yr old run a doe around for about 10 minutes and make a scrape. He showed up ten minutes too late to be my niece's first deer ever, it was past legal light.
Sunday morning I saw a 3.5-4.5 yr old working his area pretty hard. On the way to the truck I saw his (at least 1 yr) older brother working HARD to run off about 5 small satellite bucks from a clump of brush that must have contained a hot doe. I mean he would run 100 yds to chase a forkhorn that wasn't even looking his direction, then sprint back, and he did it no fewer than 6 times. 3.5 was a 120ish 8 or 9pt, and I think the older deer was over 130/8pt. Both were 17-19 inches wide.
Also saw a buck locked up with a doe Friday morning, bedded together in the front yard of a house off a county road near Caradan.
All this was in various spots of Mills County.

In Freestone Co they are cruising and chasing hard looking for receptive does, but haven't seen any hot does yet. I think it's on the cusp of busting out any day now.

Down in Hardin County, seen young bucks chasing and sparring!!! I was successful bringing in the young bucks by rattling and using grunt call!!!

Here in SW Smith County, the rut is starting. I saw a hot chase right outside my back window in broad daylight around 2pm yesterday.

How about around Nacogdoches?
