Could also be stuck down the side of the neck. I am wondering if this could be one of those moths that was flying down at the same angle at time of the pic. They look similar to that. Me too

Shows you that owning a hunting license or a bow or a rifle does not make you a hunter.

From last night. Is this an arrow or tracer bug? My tripod is 10 yards to the left of the camera by the way. I would assume that yours is not an arrow. If your tripod has any height to it the line should be angled diagonal from left to right not horizontal. Unless you are hunting out of a ground blind or course. The OP looks more like an arrow because it looks like it has fletchings on it, but that could just be the path of a bug. I get UFO's all the time on my cameras.

These are just 2 more I could find quickly but I have seen them where they looked like an arrow in flight. I just usually delete them if there is not a buck in the pic. Not saying it 100% a tracer bug but it could be just as well as it could be an arrow stuck in the side of the bucks neck.

My initial thoughts were the same that STX is saying. Hard to tell but it does look like a blurred image of a moth/insect. If its an arrow thats no bueno.

My daughter shot a buck on youth weekend a few years back that had been shot in the face the previous year. He had healed up completely except that the teeth in one side of his jaw where dislocated. He was huge. Amazing what they can live through. We never could tell for sure it it was an arrow or a bullet. Considering the bone fragments and busted jaw, we figured a bullet. Flag shows the shot path. This could just as easily have been an antler tine.

I wonder if native Americans took those kinds of shots..arrrgh.....they need to take the license away from anyone who leaves an animal to suffer like that. (aside from pigs). Both archers and firearm hunters.

Before you rush to judge someone deer do jump the string and do some weird things. A buddy of mine that I use to arhcery hunt with had a perfect broadside shot and the deer jumped the string. He hit it in the back of the head which ended up in the exact spot he was aiming for. There was an impression in the dirt from where his belly hit.

I guess that's the question....why take a head shot if you know they'll jump the string. Isn't the green spot where you should be taking your shot....little more room for error. I don't bow hunt and for this very reason. However I've hunted for over 55 years with a rifle. I have NEVER lost a deer and 99.5% of them were shot thru that green spot. The other .5% had their front legs removed.
