CR, I sure know what you mean about meds LOL I didn't want to do it either, but that is why I was there and the opportunity came up rather "sudden", so......

Hell, I've been in the same camp with guys like that. They just happened to need to go to town that day.

We had a pretty good group, though, this go round. I feel like anyone that put a bull down would have had more than enough help.

A bunch of snow would be the only thing stopping that, I reckon. I don't think rain would even be a problem.

Service was better than expected, so I'm just a phone call away if you need help next time. Packing out bulls is pretty much my favorite thing to do.

Sneaky, I will take you up on that. Next year I will have a preference point and will likely get drawn for 1st, which IMO, is the next best thing other than the rut (on the tail of it). Where I hunt may afford more opportunity for 3-4 fellas as well, something for you to think about.

What I colored in red, makes me somewhat question your sanity though, but we can work with that LOL

Jerrod and I are planning on putting in for NM, next year, along with a couple other guys that are willing. We will put in for hunts that don't interfere with the 2nd season in CO. As much as I would like to hunt 1st season, I feel like I should stick to 2nd since its wide open for anyone wanting to go.

Tough trade, but I would have done the same. Makes a big difference.

Please post the dates for NM. I'd hate to miss a trip to that part of the world. Jerrod helps me keep in touch with my Deep East Texas roots. That guy's a scream.

I'm here to tell ya, 61 deer is a hard draw bc its hard to ruin that hunt. You can hunt the rd and only have to walk 50' off it to shoot a good deer.

15 years!! Sidelined via a toe? I'd just would of cut the toe off or went and saw a denist and had him shoot it up with noviacan.

I don't think I could of just went fishing!!!

Congrats on the bull western!!! Well done as always!!!

I know I am new here, but I am super excited for an elk hunt for next year. Wish I would have known about this year sooner! Would love to get involved with either NM or CO.

Thanks BOBO. And you're right, basically what I told the fella and he seemed a bit offended confused2 I told him about toting my bull out (he saw my condition LOL) I told him no way in hell a toenail would stop me from a 15 year quest!! Heck I'd hunt, chute a buck and make those elk hunters tote it out at least!! I must be dumber than the average hunter, I worry about the work ofter the shot though roflmao

He is a character, for sure. Never met anyone like him.

I'll keep y'all posted on the NM draw. The guys on this trip get first dibs. After that, anyone that can promise to put up the 800 in time for the draw. Basically, we will be putting in for different units the week before the CO hunt, so that we can time it just right with no interference.

Think it only three per application

It'll be a rifle season for the Gila. Tough draw, but top notch hunt if we can pull it off. If there's a spot open, and I am pretty sure there will be, I'll let you know. Hunt dates will be before but close to CO second rifle season. That will likely interfere with your first season hunt, but I'll leave all that up to you.
