food plot question

what kind of Fertilizer do ya'll use or recommend on a Oats food plot? seed was planted about a month ago and its already coming up I just want to give it that push to maximize growth going into the season. i have 3, 1 acre plots in north red river county.

If you do not have your soil tested, then rule of thumb is around 300#/acre of 13-13-13 or similar. If you just want it to grow then use a high nitrogen on fertilizer. Your local feed dealer or fertilizer ag dealer can tell a general coverall fertilizer they use and keep on hand.
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?

I've been bad about just not fertilizing my oats patches lately. they still grow if you get the water. I have fertilized them in the past though. on patches about the size of yours....I just disced in about 150-200 pounds of 13-13-13 that I bought in sacks from lyssy & Eckel. it worked fine.
I just planted a small plot of oats, that I also seeded some turnips over the top of. now just need a little dose of rain.

If you're buying triple 13 you're probably wasting money. Call your local feed store and ask what they typically use. You can get alot more bang for your buck that away, also if you buy it in a bulk mix usually you can borrow a spreader for free from the feed store-
