have a moultre game camera out, about 50' from tree line, checked the card after one week and over 700 pics of the "view". instructions are little to no help. would the "trigger" be that sensitive to background movement?. gonna move it to face the other way and see what happens. any thoughts?

I have had similar results, but not nearly to the extreme of 700 pics. I have always noticed that when I would get pics of nothing would be when the wind is really high. It would cause the trees and bushes to move enough to trigger the camera.

Try to get the camera pointed north if possible. Tilt camera slightly down angle so that it does not "see" branches in the trees blowing in the wind. Remove any high grass/weeds that are directly in front of the camera for about 15 feet.
Do these things and it will greatly reduce the false triggers on the camera.

What do you have the camera attached to? If it is not on a solid tree or post that will not move it will take pics at random if what it is attached to moves. Some TC can be sensitive to background tall grass/weeds/brush/trees in the heat. I had a camera take random pics once with low batteries, not a Moultre though.

Everything said so far and birds. Birds flying through will trigger the cam.

I had a Moultrie A5 and had the same problem. Research indicated that it was border line junk. It took about 700 pics in a week. A couple were actually deer. So, I changed spots to an open field and got another 300 pics of nothing. I returned it to WalMart and got my money back.

Without a sense of urgency, nothing ever happens.

Yeah, if it is an A5, they aren't much better than being a plot watcher camera that takes pics every minute or so. A5s sort of suck. I have a couple.

Well, at least the pics confirm you have 'nothing' out there... Maybe ditch the camera and spend the money on corn.

Not sure, make sure you have it on motion sensitive, other settings will trigger photos in a timely matter.

I have two of the Moultrie game cams and have experienced the same problem randomly. 100's of pictures of nothing and not associated with wind and they seem to do it randomly. I have not researched it yet...
I was wrong...on anything technical. Fitz............. is right, ya know............

Made a change, moved from facing south toward tree line to facing north across open field. Drastically reduced the number of pics. Driving in I triggered the camera.....50 yards away !!!

Driving in I triggered the camera.....50 yards away !!! Yeah, that isn't unusual. A big enough target will trigger the camera at much greater than normal range. I have one that face's my folks' house so that they can get pics of deer in their yard. When they drive in and out, the camera gets triggered. I would guess that the drive is over 50 yards away, but not by much. This camera is a Covert and not a Moultrie.
