It verys and depends on how much work you want to put into it. I hunted in moran for 10 years. Alot of work and time and started gettin good deer. I am lookin to get a lease next year in the cisco albany area.
I eat everything I kill and I am to fat to be a bad hunter.

Keep in mind I am not the best hunter, but I hunted Cisco last year and the deer only came out at night. There was tons of hunting pressure all around us and we had a problem because someone shot a doe and dumped it on the side of the road. Didn't see any deer all year, I am on a different lease this now.

Also keep in mind that there aint any ground water out there so everything relies on rain. we had a couple of drought years back to back and the deer that dropped in the droughts were stunted in there growth. I meen they got wide and fat latter but never got taller.

If it backs up to any of the Wilks' places, take binoculars and watch the bruisers they are raising. That is your best shot on seeing deer in that area.

Gonna have to agree- unless you have supplemental water and good management- not saying there aren't ANY good places in Cisco but they have to work at it as hard or harder than some other places I have been.

I hunted near Cisco for 1 year...and only 1 year for a reason.
I avoid Dick's and hope they fold.

Wilks Whitetail World or something like that. They were buying up properties left and right in that area after they sold FT. A few billion goes along way in Cisco, Texas. This is what their main compound looks like now.

I own a small place north of Cisco. If you'll manage them a little, you can have some decent deer. I'm lucky though, the 400+ acres behind me doesn't allow any hunting(as of now anyway) so I get quite a bit of that traffic. The 140 acres south of me, they shoot anything that moves.
It's true hard work never killed anybody, but I figure, why take the chance. Ronald Reagan

Can't kill a big one if you shoot them when there young. Have a place south of Scranton with no hunting pressure around us and have some good quality deer.

A lot of farms around that area so pressure isn't as bad as other places in the county. But still pressure. We have a lot...I mean a lot of hunters around here but still good deer. It's feast or famine. I wish you luck. I visited a man off of 170 and he's an avid bow hunter and has seen a lot of deer there.
After looking, the south side of 207 is a HF owned by the Wilks and the north side is the Gerhardt place. Up to the first curve is the Schaefer (or relatives of) place. Good luck. Just curios: who's place are you leasing ?
