Looks like the Arkansas bear season (lottery only) is on in some parts of the state. Has anyone ever done well? Southwest Arkansas Bear Zone would be a good trip from Texas, if there are any bear in that area!

Smoky Mnts is beautiful place. if i had the money, be no debating. had ta switch channels, watchen tv just not the same as being thar. tis going stir crazy just wondering about the woods were do moat of my hog hunts. dang android changen words, ain't even pop-a-top yet. its a conspiracy, i tell ya's. trying ta make me look dumber than i realtime am, hagh, caut ya, switched realy ta realtime

I would think that most of the bear hunting is in the southeastern part of the state. That's where the largest population of La. bears reside and there are no boundaries to prevent them from roaming into S/E Ark. So I would think that the S/E corner of Ark. would have the highest population. Could be wrong, though.

Southwest Arkansas Bear Zone would be a good trip from Texas, if there are any bear in that area! Arkansas bear hunting is not a lottery, you buy the tags over the counter but there is a quota. The state is broken up into two zones. I hunted there last year a killed a Pope and Young bear. There is plenty of public land to hunt but you can only bait on private.

Yeah....bear are in quota allotment (not a lottery). I'm looking at the black powder seasons and zones right now and trying to find out more about the areas.
