As I've mentioned on this site, I'm opening a brewery here in Houston soon.
Doing a little research, the spent grains are actually highly nutrient from a protein perspective and are scooped up by cattle and hog ranchers for supplemental feed. That said, I guess I don't need to know if they're good for hogs, but any idea if deer eat them?
I'll literally have tons of the stuff at my disposal.
I guess I'll pile them up and see what comes.

I think it'll take them a little while to figure it out, but apparently cows, pigs, chickens and goats love them.
Not sure why deer wouldn't.

I think it'll work. Keep us posted...On an unrelated topic, let us know when you can get some of y'alls hooch up in north Texas.

It will work good for hogs. There are some chicken houses down the road from us and when the guys clean them they will sometimes take the grain down to the creek and hog hunt over it. It doesn't take long for the hogs to start coming in.
Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

As a prolific home brewer, I have tried my (less than tons) spent grain on hunting. When it is a day or so old, the deer love it, but once it starts to sour they won't touch it. However, that is when the hogs come runnin' for it!
