(Cotton County, OK) Does anyone know anything about the quality of deer hunting in this area? It is just across the Red River from Wichita Falls. A family friend has given me exclusive rights to hunt their 300 acres right on the river for next year. I don't know anything about this area. Is this a good area or would I be looking at long hours with few deer? Any information would be appreciated.

It is a great area. Best friend married a girl from Cotton county and they kill some really good deer every year on the family land. Jump all over it.

Anything on the river is great. I would jump all over it as well.

Thanks for the input guys. I missed hunting this year because we lost our Coke County lease. I have never hunted north of the border before but I'll surely check it out next season.

What part of Cotoon County are you in? I've been given permisson to hunt 160 acres right on the river right across the river from Burk Burnet and would appreciate any information you could give me on the hunting in the area. There are lots of turkey on the place and the owner says it has a few deer but it has good brush along the river seem to me the deer should travel along the river pretty good.

i assure you there are Plenty of deer up there! used to hunt about 30 miles to the west of there on the texas side of the river on 120 acres of woods between some peanut fields. probably some of the only texas deer ive ever seen that might weigh over 200! never got a big one with the bow though. saw some big uns tho!!! definitely jump on the opportunity to hunt!
