Could I use a thermacell inside a ground blind?

Depends on if you have enough ventilation. I've never used it in an enclosed area.

Might be my most important piece of gear if it's not cold out

I have 4 just in case the skeeters are REAL bad

They do work....I get maybe two sits out of one (6 hrs or so)

I started reading this thread last week. I went and bought a Thermacell for this weekends deer hunting. My wife quickly claimed it and refuses to hunt without it now. Seems to work great. I now have to get me one.

I use mine all the time but it didn't help much tonight

I am also looking at them on Amazon. Some of the reviews say they smoke and have a scent. My friend had one with the earth scent and said it ran him completely out of the box blind. Most of the reviews are great though. Just wondering if the smoke is bad and if the scent bothers the game around my hunting set-up ?

I used the earth scent this week hunting and had a spike coming into the stand every morning and night for three days and walked the trail at 50 yards, never knew I was there.

They mostly smoke at the beginning when first powered up. I never had anything spook that I could see.

there is definitely a faint smoke the entire time. Not bad.... there is a smell but again not bad but I wouldn't use it in a completely enclosed blind either. Scent doesn't seem to bother the deer but if they can smell the Thermacell you are playing the wind wrong and they can sure smell you and thats whats going to make them bolt. Thermacell is a must have in early season.

Smoke and sent don't bother nothing... if your in a blind you only need to run it for a bit then shut it off. I ran out of burn fluid one day so lit the pad on fire and blew it out to get some smoke in the area.. it will keep um away for a good while even once its off

Found a new one on Amazon for $17 an ordered 2 extra butane cells for it. Saw the video on Youtube to refill the butane and the pads. Gonna give it a try.

Well, got my thermacell in the mail today. Came out on the porch to sit and bugs and skeeters all over and around my porch light. Turned it on, and 3-4 minutes later, not a singal bug around the porch. I'm sold on it.

Works like a charm. Use the YouTube method to refill the cartridges and pads. Saves $$. Like earth scent better.
