Got my new 30.06 sighted in yesterday. Put a prostaff 4x12x40 on it. Very economical package, but that thing can shoot! Last two rounds were touching at a 100 yards so I packed it up and headed home.

I've heard nothing but positive things about the Venture. Might very well be the best value going right now.

I was looking at the Venture a short time back. You probably know this, but TC had a recall on several of the rifles due to trigger issues, the Venture was included, yours may have come out after this problems was resolved. You might want to check it out if you are not certain. I think you got a good rifle.

Look on the outside edge of the safety's serrated tab, and see if there is a small metal punch mark midway front to back and top to bottom....or if you still have the box, the label will be stamped with a bright red Star or Checkmark.

If the Venture was built after a July ??? date in 2013 that you can find in the Factory website, there might NOT be a punch mark as ALL the production after that July 2013 date were POST the safety fix on the production line. A phone call to a CSR will clear up any questions, and they were pleasant, knowledgeable and easy to talk to.

The $75 Rebate being offered right now will drop off in a couple weeks, again look at the Factory Website for exact detailed Info....and is NOT limited to more than 1 gun purchases in a household...so if you want Santa to bring a new TC Venture for every little boy or girl in the house, the Rebate will be honored on every NEW Venture Purchased when the Rebate claim forms and original box label are sent in, along with a copy of the Sales Reciept. Wish I had bought a couple more last Spring when there was a little bit larger selection of calibers in the market at Retail...sure wish they'd release the 6.5x55 Swede that's been promised too. Just need to figure out the time to get my 308 WeatherShield MossyOak Camo put together.

They also put a large sticker on the box that says "this gun not subject to the recall"

I just looked on the TC website and they list the 6.5x55 as available and one shows for sale on gallery of guns. Looks like you are in luck.
