I'm in my blind on Ft hood it's nice and chilly. Got a ton of cardinals flying around and heard a bunch of Yotes howling right at daybreak. Hope to see some deer or hogs soon.

Not hunting but I did sit out for a bit before my allergies took over, mainly to make sure feeders and timers were set....all are working. Headed to breakfast, then our local and famous "Ol Rip Fest" (we celebrate a mythical horny toad) then punch out mom's house with blinds, trim and caulk, then off to the movies. Any day with the family beats a day in the woods....at least while my allergies are out of control.

59 this morning with NE breeze. Hunting a haybale blind about 150 yards from a protein and spin feeder. Had 7-8 bucks and 10 or so does/yearlings around me at all times from 10-70 yards. Strange morning with deer being spooked then returning and getting spooked again by something off to south about 150 yards away at the feed pen.

Sitting in a pop up on some trails this morning. Just watched a red stag cross about 100 yards in front of me. Man those things are big.

Been hunting all week since Wednesday here in Oklahoma, temps have touched high 80's to 38 this AM. Been seeing swarms of turkey and a ton of deer, just not THE deer. So far this morning, 7 does and 4 bucks, 3 of which were at least 8 pointers, just not shooters. Yesterday AM, wife's grandfather took a split brow tine 12 pt. Going to sit another hour or so then head in for lunch. I was hoping this drastic cold front could shake the big bucks from their nocturnal pattern, but not looking good yet.

Got in the woods this morning at 5:00 so me and the climber could go up the tree. Nice and cool but no deer moving near Twok. Or at least not where I was.
