a man walks into a store and spends his earned money - buys ammo -> feeds the economy -> helps keep people employed -> gets to shoot with his kids and grandkids and you give him hell over it? .22LR is no different than toilet paper, you will ALWAYS need it. Do you buy 1 roll at a time or do you buy enough for the week, the month? I order TP by the caseload on Amazon, I guess I'm a hoarder too and I also bet my caseload caused a family somewhere to have to use their barehand to wipe..... come the [beep] on.

I don't have a problem at all with a guy buying ammo for personal use...NOT ONE BIT!

Now these guys who are going around and buying it up at national chain stores so they can turn around and sell it off their shelf is what PI$$E$ me off......

This box of ammo was from a store front location in Austin; NO I DIDNT BUY IT

I just picked up three boxes of that last night at the Wal Mart down the street for just over 16 bucks a box. I lucked out, they were putting it out when I saw it.

The crack smokingly high prices will eventually come back down barring any new panic situations and folks just refusing to pay whatever these idiots think they can charge. The market appears to be slowly correcting itself.

45 bucks a box is excessive and is around 10 bucks less than what I paid (including tax) FOR THREE BOXES. The folks out there that "had to have it at any cost" are just as much to blame as the ammo scalpers.

I remember being a kid with a 22 lr and a brick (525 rounds) of ammo. It was more like work than fun to shoot a brick in the 3 day weekend trip to my grandmas farm every labor day weekend. Some of you guys must have the 10/22 galin gun conversion no?

Good for you mreed I'm glad you were able to find some ammo and purchase it for whatever reason. I'd do the same thing and probably would have purchased the limit on my second trip, and so would my wife, and my son. It's for sale buy as much as you like.

Nice find. I haven't bought any since before Sandy Hook, but I'd have bought that up as well. It's good ammo.

Your analogy can not be supported. What if everyone started buying TP by truckoads, and then the people from E TX and Arkansas and W. Virginia decided they needed a toilet and started buying TP because they had more money than you have as disposable income. Easy to tell you are an online shopper so you don't have any magazines or telephone books to use for wipes.

Just joshing with you, I could care less if you own all the 22 ammo in the world. And no, a person doesn't always need 22 ammo, not with some of the air guns on the market.

I only buy from Walmart, Academy, Cabella's, Bass Pro Shop or places like that. Would never buy from someone reselling it no matter what the cost. If people would stop buying from those reselling it or even stores that are gouging the problem would go away. And if a store is gouging, I vote with my pocketbook. I refuse to go into Cheaper than Dirt because of the gouging they did a couple years ago. They have good prices now but I have a long memory.

Recently read an line article on why 22 is so hard to find........
1. Only three major plants in USA - Remington, Winchester, Federal. Running 24/7. Kinda like refineries.
2. Can't keep up with demand.
3. Hoarding

For me, I used to pick it up whenever I saw it. Feel I have enough now. Son shoots 22 auto rifle and 6 shooter. I have deferred my limit of three if someone else was needing it when I bought it. SHARING. Now it seems like supply is catching up in all types. Even 22 mag!!!!

I have two sons that love to shoot, not counting all their friends, and I have 6 nephews who only get to shoot when they are at my house. I also (in the past) kept between 500-600 hand loads to any given rifle on my property. And because of this I didn't have to freak out like the rest of y'all when ammo got scarce. If I stumble across ammo or reload supplies for my arsenal ten I buy them. I always and I always will.
