Figured that, just wasn't sure if there was anyone in TPW that could help or any other avenues. Let me know what you hear from them

I couldn't agree more Skinner. If we have $500 million of taxpayer dollars to give away to companies under the Governors 'slush fund', surely we could find the $ to fund TPWD. Chaps my arse, in case y'all couldn't tell.

As much as it pains me to point out, it's not fraud. That's the politics that's going on with this. They have this stipend set up where you qualify strictly based on the income you show on your tax return. They don't even ask what you have in savings or investments to qualify for the stipend. So in other words, their using yours and my tax dollars to buy the votes of people that are receiving this money.

And I apologize to the OP for taking this off topic. Just made me think of all the money going places like this that could be used for other needs. Isn't that what the tax value proposition is suppose to be?

Yes, you are correct, Pitch. I'm just saying, if they were receiving benefits under Medicaid or they would have to be hiding $ and assets. That's called medicaid fraud. The congress make the rules that govern our tax system, this means they are ALL culpable IMO. I want to learn more about how this is happening, that's all.

I have a GW as a close personal friend. $350 / mo. Truck, boat, quad everything comes out of that 350.
They are NOT allowed to take donations of any kind, be it fuel, or $ for fuel.
They are also required to go to the border for tours of duty and that comes out of their budget too..

They can't remotely do their jobs effectively.

The game warden in Crockett county reitered to Mineola a couple years ago and they have not replaced him. (To my knowledge) The budget would be exhausted with in the first week going corner to corner of the county.

The Brazos river authority officers on PK live 40 miles from the the lake
and drive their units home every day. I would wager they cost us 750 or more a month. But Perry is getting kick backs from all of the plants on the coast from all of the water they release from our lakes and we wonder why our lakes are dry.

They also do other things that burn fuel that is "outside" of their normal duties. I used to cut, stack, and donate large amounts of mesquite/oak/pecan wood for youth hunt BBQ's and other youth hunting get togethers & activities. Game Wardens would show up pulling a heavy BBQ pit rig, load it with wood and drive to a number of places to do this. Who knows how many tanks of fuel that took, I imagine now they have cut back on doing things like that. BS. Not to mention the fresh meat that several of them ran to needy families....

So... Texas needs to legalize pot and use the resulting fees and taxes to help pay for gas expenses peep

On a serious note, I know that other agencies across the US have set budget restrictions. Up in Iowa, they have closed most DOT stations at 5PM, and cut State Trooper gas expense in half by making troopers ride in pairs in one car instead of sending out two. I rarely see game wardens and DNR vehicles out on the roads, maybe once in a two week period.

I hear alot of bickering about this and that, and you boys can feel all better by doing that if you want.
In the morning, We had a Warden that checked our property 2 weeks ago.
The young man and his girlfriend hunting our property were clean, but the ones next to us weren't. He did his job without a Thank You, I guarantee.

Tomorrow, he is getting a donated gas card.......ANONYMOUSLY. I appreciate him checking the boys hunting our place and want him to continue that.
Sometimes you gotta do whats right to show your appreciation.

I personally don't like govt waste. And wardens are a waste as far as I'm concerned. The less money they have for gas, the better.
