I shoot 3.5" or 3" BBs for geese, but I'm sure others would work.

That's a loaded question !! Some will swear it's a waste to shoot 3.5's but I like them so I buy them.
I use 3.5's BB's, 1's, 2's (kent faststeel #1's 1 3/8oz, 1450fps) modified choke (for everything, keeps life simple)
We have lots of in your face shots on Canada's and specks but have to air it out at times on snows. I just picked up some Kent Faststeel at Cabelas on sale, #1's which aren't common to find so it splits me down the middle of the BB's and 2's that I can never decide on which to grab. We kill lots of ducks in our goose spreads so it's a good compromise. I've shot hyper velocities, black clouds, you name it and gonna stick with the Kents, middle of the road price wise and good loads.

I shoot #2 and #4 pellets 2 3/4 or 3 inch for decoying geese with a IC choke. If they hang up outside the spread I switch to BB and a Pattern Master choke 3.5 mag.

I like 3" 2's or BB's out of a modified choke
I'm with GK because I like salty old dudes.

Not asking for THE BEST set up, or THE ONLY way to go Just seeing what people use and what's most common.

I'm one of those guys that thinks 3" are unnecessary. 3" #2 Kents on decoying birds since we also tend to get a lot of ducks mixed in. 3" BB's on pass shooting. Nothing but #2's on snows. Mod choke.
Cigarettes are like hamsters. Perfectly harmless til you put it in your mouth & light it on fire

I've been on two kinds of goose hunts, party hunts (10 guys) and real hunts... party hunts I load whatever cheap crap I can find because we're just gonna be shooting at 70 yards anyway and hoping to knock a couple down Otherwise #4 or #2 IC choke but I haven't goose hunted a whole lot so take it with a grain of salt
