We were selected for the archery mule deer hunt at Black Gap 10/20/14--10/23/14. Looking forward to it. Other hunt are pending second chance.

Love that place. I was drawn 3 times there on the youth hunts. It is truly awesome country, and very rugged and remote.

Drawn in '02.....Loved it, even though we didn't shoot anything. We camped in our compartment and hunted the guzzlers. Take firewood if they will let you burn. When they say there is no firewood in the park, they mean it! We went about the same time in October and it was hot that year. Deer were coming down to the guzzlers late and after dark. Good luck!

Make sure you get a unit with a guzzler or tank on it. Got drawn there years back and could see some great deer
hitting a guzzler but on another unit so we were left high and dry.

Black Gap is awesome.. or at least I had a good time.. I shot my first mule deer there..small in antlers but a trophy to me none the less.. I let my dad sit in my pop up by a guzzler.. ( Litsten to Mulie Mike.. water is key) he was crying his knees hurt to spot and stalk.. guess I should have stayed put. also got my first javelina with a bow too!Ill attach pics and a video I got of a huge buck that ran across the road in front of me.. less than a mile from the gate we entered and in the pasture we were hunting... also I stalked up on a bachelor group of mulie bucks that were all in the 140-160 range.. wish it had been rifle.. would have had a big' un.
