I just wanted to share what I've done and get ideas from others.

There are two things I've done recently that are simple and cheap, but make all the positive difference.

1) For $15 I get a nice wood plaque with photo of the harvest imprinted on metal and engraving with hunt info. Looks nice and adds nicely to the mount, easy as emailing photo and paying $15.

2) Instead of looking for a stud or having a drywall screw with mixed success, I've started using all toggle bolts. With toggle bolt on inside of drywall and washer bolt on outside it is perfectly secure.

Use of simple plaque.

use of toggle bolt (prior holes were unsuccessful drywall screws).

I like your idea of the photo and engraving, would you share the link or source?

I get mine from Keller Trophy. Not sure what they're called. You send soft file of image and they imprint on metal (no fading or bending paper).

I'm glad you showed that picture. I was gonna petition to have you evicted unless you could show proof that the room was being used to its full potential

cool idea on the plaques!, I have been using those gorilla hooks that push in the drywall and curve. leave a Tiny tiny hole can go anywhere and will hold like 50 lbs. have a bison skull held by one in my office. and way easier to move without leaving that toggle in the wall

+2...assuming there was actually any sheetrock in the entire house. I'm probably going to do wood paneling when we build.

Great idea from the OP for dealing with sheetrock, though.

Very nice. I'm hoping to start my trophy room next year. I'm going to use 3/4 plywood instead of sheetrock and the do a trowel finish over the sheetrock with a faux paint finish. Nobody will ever be able to tell what's on the wall, and the plywood will be strong enough to hold everything I have.

Very nice man cave. Way too much liquor on the bar back though. What was that address again?
