Any idea of how much this guy weighs? Also, do you think he would be edible at that size? What is the largest size hog you would consider to be good eating? Any info would be appreciated! Thanks, Will

That's a tough one to guess, not much to compare him to. I shot a 191 pounder a few weeks back, your's looks to be bigger, I'll go 210. And I fed mine to the buzzards.
We ate a 130 pounder a month ago, he was good. We ate hams, shoulders straps and all. That may be the biggest bore I would eat.

I would say about 175-200. Shot one a year ago weight was 250, took back strap and hams another one took ribs. It all cooked just fine, smoked the hams (25-30# each) back strap cut into steaks season and fried em up.

Thanks for the input everyone. I'm still pretty new to Texas and hog hunting. I heard the big ones were poor eating but it sounds like I should try one and decide for myself. Maybe fire up the traeger...

Size does not always matter, barrow hogs are great no matter the size. But you should not see very many in the wild. I have seen hogs get fat as can be and be less than a year old. On the other hand I have seen old hogs around 200 with cutters, scars and lean. Fat is good
