Pioneer restaurant has good home cooked style breakfast, pork chops, pancakes etc. There are two locations near the mall, Maplewood and Southwest Parkway are both good.
Texas Knife Works and Guns is where I have been buying all my guns lately.

Stationed there for 4 long years at Sheppard AFB...wondered which AF Assignments Officer had gotten mad at me when I got that assignment years ago, and was ready to leave once my "sentence" (sorry, my tour) was done. As for gun shops, they are few and far between, and most are just glorified pawn shops. They do have an Academy Sports store there now...after going without for so long, I thought it was manna from Heaven when Academy came to town. As for breakfast, try the Sunrise & Shine Omelette Grill...I remember the locals liking it. P.S.: If you want Mexican food, El Mejicano Restaurant & Cantina is really good...that's where all the military folks liked to eat for lunch. They don't offer breakfast though, sorry.
AF(Retired)/DV; busted mine to save yours then...bustin' Bambi to save the American hunting dream now!

Stay with I hop--unless you like burritos, there are local places for those. As for that Mexican place--do not go there, their food is terrible.

Lubys is your best bet. Just dont go during church hours or bingo nights. There is a ramp to enter, so you don't have to fight 2 steps. They also provide a free cup of water and bleach to deposit your dentures while eating.

Well, if you have to know. Prines BBQ is better than just about any place in dallas, pure ham, cut off the bone, not pressed crap. BBQ cooked with a real fire, low and slow. For steaks, mcbrides downtown , cooked on real mesquite- and you can taste it, not gas. No good seafood, catfish at bills- you can't beat it. Hamburger at Scott's drive in, get the double Scottie. Look for burritos for breakfast.

Most all of the comments are true....CFS and eggs at Pioneer is probably my favorite breakfast. The Burrito Shop downtown is also good...not much on scenery though and they are cash only. The green sauce will light you up.
Casa Manana should only be eaten when near or on a toilet....

Casa Manana should only be eaten when near or on a toilet.... I lived in Wichita Falls in the 80's for six years, and grew up nearby. The Pioneer on Maplewood was my favorite place to eat. I took my family there two years ago and it was terrible. The staff sucked worse than the food if that is even possible. I will never spend my money there again.

Okay, we took a chance on the Pioneer on Southwest Parkway yesterday. The place was packed. However, we got right in and the food as well as the service were both outstanding. My faith has been restored.

There is a Sport's Bar and Grill kind of on the corner of Southwest Parkway and Kemp. It is next to the Whataburger. I have noticed it stays pretty busy and wondering if anyone had tried it.

For the one that recommended sun rise and shine, it went out of business. I heard Sevi's did too, but have not verified. If you want Mexican, Carlitos in Burkburnett can't be beat. Sean
