It's personal preference
I like a single point or one single loop

Viking Tactics.
Adjusts quick for use while shooting, pulling the rifle close to the chest, or close to the back. Padded and very useful when hands free is needed.

I'm not able to critique other options. I bought the inexpensive midway single point sling and I like it a lot. I have a short rifle (10.5" barrel). I might not like the single point so much if I had a 20" barrel.

My FIL tried the single point and kept forgetting to pay attention to his muzzle and kept sticking it in the ground. Thankfully I watched him every time, and thankfully the muzzle break kept dirt out of the bore. At the same time, he is much less experienced than a lot of hunters/shooters.

Keep forgetting stuff. If you have a particularly heavy gun, a single point might not be the best option. Brother has a 20" Lar-8 and a single point on it gets pretty wearisome. To reiterate, though, I do really really like it on my light rifle.

I used to run a single point sling on my 16" AR one of the cheap bungee ones and the rifle was too heavy for the bungee to handle even with it cinched up all the way the barrel of the gun was about 1" from the ground. If you bend down or crouch the barrel digs in. I upgraded to the Troy single point sling and it was night and day compared to the cheap bungee. In the end I still switched to the 2 point option and I'm much happier.

Here's why I like the VTAC. When I carry my rifle in front of me, I like the buttplate to already be in position, meaning that all I have to do is lift rifle with one hand, either hand, and the buttplate is where it should be all the time. Obviously that's for standing/walking. If I go prone I can stay on target with trigger hand still uploading rifle, while offhand is pulling slack into sling.

Guess I'm the only person who still uses cotton clothesline cord. Prefer 5/16th but 1/4 will work in a bind.
