Greetings from West Texas.
Bought a FoxPro Spitfire, just getting into varmint calling.
Which calls are fairly fruitful and a good starting spot for fox, bobcats & coyotes?
thanks much in advance, Brad

Chupa thanks, do you work down that list or concentrate on one or two calls at each set up?

Rabbit and a bat works good But on a serious note the lighting jack is prolly the best one and the most used if your looking at mouth calls get a green nasty for tony tebbe his work very well and have been tested .

I don't use more than about 3-4 sounds on a stand. Each stand would be different.

depends on time of yr, distress calls work most any time, somewhere about march, pup distress, pre season (mating) challenge, ect are good, if highly populated white tail areas, when fawns are on the ground that distress can work
hold on Newt, we got a runaway

If you have pigs in your area (who doesn't) the piglet in distress works really well. I alternate it and cotton tail. If I have multiples come in I will use a yelp after shot and have had good luck with getting doubles.

Challenge call in the spring. Learn to make a squeezing sound w out a caller, or buy one that is manual. It comes in handy in the field. Sometimes you may not have a chance to put the call out, or want to redirect them

I've ran a fox pro from the Canadian border to the Mexican border and I'd say the overall most effective sound I've used is snowshoe hare and that includes south Texas. I don't know what a snow shoe sounds like and I'm sure that a coyote outside of Laredo somewhere doesn't but whatever that sound is works.

Red river game calls, hand made wooden calls- very nice and work well
You're gonna be good at what you practice, make sure you are practicing the right thing...
