Anybody use costas?
Whats the best color lense for all around hunting/fishin (n.tx muddy water)/wingshooting?
Glass or plastic lens?

This could have gone in hunting gear, but I want to know more specifically what works for the waterfowlers and dub hunters. rock_on

My wife just built me a prescription pair. I have no idea the color, what the lenses are made of, nothing. I can tell you this. I love my Costas. Bad to the freakin bone comfortable and they let no light in.

580 glass is the only lens to get. I have 2 pair: black Tuna Alley with blue lens for everyday and fishing, and Shadow Grass Tuna Alley with green lens for hunting. Was a long time Oakley guy and received a pair of Costas as a gift. Won't ever go back.

My favorite fishing glasses are Smith Action Optics. I own a fly fishing guide service and most guides I work with prefer Smith to Costa's. Let's put it this way, my back up glasses in case I ever break my Smith's are Costa's.

Check em out.

I think smith and costa are connected somehow.. or used to be? My huntin buddy works at an optic shop and smith came in the other day to get them to carry their line. They all got a free pair they're pretty bad a.

I have the blue 580 glass for going on 4 years now. One thing I noticed is that they don't scratch very easily at all, I throw them around and they don't have but one or two. Another thing I noticed is that molten steel will in fact melt into them.

They are two separate companies, he probably reps both glasses.

I will add I don't like the strait blue glass for regular wearing glasses... to dark for me.. I have some Cat kay blackouts with the greenish blue lenses.. they are great for everything... fishing, to hunting to even driving while its hazy outside.. more like HD shades

I'm like Wal and also wear glasses. I recently got some Ray Bans and really like them. I don't think the color shade matters too much for hunting or fishing it's just a matter how how dark you want them but for me I have to get the polarized lenses.

Mine too. My damn light colored eyes are pretty sensitive to the sun...so the darker the better for me. But again that's a personal preference but I'll stand by recommending the polarized to everyone. Once you own one pair of polarized sunglasses you'll never stand to wear sunglasses that aren't. Just cuts the glare down so much.

After 33 years of being hooked on tobacco of one form or another, I am happy to report, NO LONGER!!!!! May 22,2013 was the first day of the rest of my life. I can't give advise on how and why, as I truly believe I received some divine intervention. I was so hooked I would wake in the night, not even realize I was taking a monster chomp of copenhagen and going back to sleep. Sleeping with snuff in my mouth, WTF, who does that?

580 green mirror amber lenses. Blue mirror are for offshore and take more light to see well.

Yeah that is a tough one...I guess first step is you have to want to quit. A lot of people know they should quit but that's not the same. Congrats to sticking that through Wayne! I've dipped like twice in my life...it's a good thing the first time I did it I was in middle school and then had to run home because I was going to be late. Making me feel like I was going to throw up was probably the best thing that ever happened to me. The other time was to try to fool a cop to think I was not drinking when I was underage. Turned out he didn't see me drinking anyway so I was told to go home and I spit that nasty stuff out.

Matte black with grey polarized lenses. I love 'em! I have worn then several times, did not flair birds.

Take some nice regular shades out fishing and actually trying to spot fish even in mercy water then put on a pair of Costas.... my brother fishes saltwater a lot and always has had Oakley's... let him put my Costas on the other day and now he owns a pair... it makes a huge difference

I prefer Costas, but I picked up a pair of Revos on sale and love them. They are super light weight and even though they're poly carb lenses, they're almost as good as glass. Another option to consider

Yup, fished one day I had blue/grey 400 buddy had green/amber 580. I could barely see the fish until I put on his glasses and then they were clear as day.
