For the first time in 25 years I missed the opener. I haven't even bought a hunting license yet. Don't even feel the energy to go and hunt. Guess that's what going through a divorce will do to you.

Hope you others had a great time and enjoyed.

Dang. Hope your "want to" kicks back in soon. It's great therapy as you know. Hang in there.

Hang in ther kwrhuntinglab. Been there. A lot of us have. It'll come back to ya, just gotta ride out the storm. Sandy beaches and cold cervezas are on the horizon.

And theres another opening day next year.

Damn bud, hate that for you. Haven't had to deal with it, but seems like last year there was something in the water around here. From the buddies I have that dealt with it, seems to take a bit to get your world turned right-side-up, and best way seems to keep on keeping on. Hunting is my peaceful place and can be good therapy. Hope you get to feeling "normal" soon cheers

19 years......but it was my choice. Just sucks having a 6yr old kid that doesn't understand why daddy moved out. Guess that really took a toll on me...Hopefully I will get it back.

I have been there myself...it's a [censored] situation that is tough to get through.

Keep your head up, I am sure you have heard it more than you wanted to already, but it does get better with time. When you are ready get back in the field, it's cheap therapy that does help!

getting a divorce was one of the best choices I ever made, and left the woman on the bow opener . So in theory I got to hunt get divorced and watch football all in the same day. It gets better like they all say but don't go to drinkin too much, it'll make it worse. I now am engaged to the woman of my dreams, never had an ill spoken word to one another, she cooks, cleans hunts and puts up with nascar and football, and the best part is that she don't lick her plate when shes done eating. and she buys my beer.

No relationship is perfect. Its all about communication (although i oppose over communication) and tolerance

One piece of advice that was given to me by a wise man while I was going through my divorce. He had been through one as well and here is what he had to say: "We always pick 'em better the second time around"

It has always stuck with me and I agree with him now that I am where I am at....it looks like Drop 1 does as well.

Ya'll do realize the divorce rate is higher the second time around. Third time is a charm according to statistics....

kwrhuntinglab, I feel for you. I am in the same boat. Middle of divorce, 6 year old boy, no licence yet, no opening dove hunt. That being said, I feel that hunting for you and I will be very therapeutic. I have a squirrel hunt/deer scouting trip planned for next weekend with my son, and I have been doing a lot more fishing this year than normal. It even helps to just walk down to the local pond and wet a line for a half hour.
PM me if you ever want to vent.

It gets better. when i split from my ex-wife I went and got myself a dog and 20acres 2 miles from my nearest neaighbor. All my old buddies came to celebrate. Divorce wasn't easy but sometimes it eases your pain.

Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

Sorry to hear things didn't last "forever". Mine lasted 30 years before the split and then a few months later, I lost my free dove hunting place. The "gotta get out into the field" feeling definitely gets diminished while going thru something like that. Haven't found a place to bust dove since....gggrrr. Good luck to you brother.

Why the hell should I have to press 1 for English!!??
