There are lots of good bows out there (diamond, pse, etc) that run around your price range. You can get them to shoot up to 320fps with a 31" draw length, light arrow and minimum extras on it. These bows will be 100 times better than any pro-line bow you could buy 10 years ago. If all you are going to do is shoot at 25 yards from a tree stand, than you can't buy a better bow at any price that will kill a deer any better/faster. It is when you want to walk/stalk or shoot at 30 yards plus that the better pro-line bows come into play.

Thanks for all the recommendations guys. Ended up getting a Matthews Monster for $500 Fully loaded with quality accessories. My neighbor is a police officer and is friends with the Bow shop owner here in San Antonio and they hooked me up. Thanks again!

I bought a Winchester Laredo SS last summer for about $350 and added a stabilizer and sights for an extra 100 bucks. I love this bow it feels/looks great, light weight, quiet, and reasonably fast for the money.
These are all great new bows that are reasonably priced PSE Vision $399, Winchester Laredo SS $350, Diamond Infinity Edge $350, Bear Attitude $399. At these prices you can upgrade some parts (arrow rest, sight, and stabilizer) and get arrows and a release all for under $450.
The other option is to find a newer used bow online. There are great deals and combos online if you take the time to look.
Good luck and happy shooting
I do hunt, and I do fish, and I don't apologize to anybody for hunting and fishing.
You know, if you need 100 rounds to kill a deer, maybe hunting isn't your sport.

This was a great suggestion, but this exact bow is sitting on my kitchen table now. Couldn't pass that deal up.
