Anyone else hunt on TPWD land for the opener? I shot three in the morning and two more in the afternoon. A pretty good haul considering the site and I used a .410 for the morning hunt. Lots of people out there, and I got popped by some mumbnut Barney shooting a birds below the tree line, but everything else was good. I took a buddy in the morning for his first hunt ever.

I took my son to a public field a little over an hour away from Austin yesterday morning. It was a good spot for me last year and would always have lots of bird after a front. Yesterday was the first time I had ever seen any other hunters on the property but there were lots of birds to go around. We ended up with four but lost one and had plenty of opportunities for more. I didn't talk to any of the other hunters but a group down the fence line from us probably got their limit or close to it. There may have been no more than ten vehicles on the over hundred acres so there were no issues of getting peppered. It was corn field last year and this year looks like it may have had milo in it. We had a good time and will go back.

I was out again this morning and it was just me and one group of three guys on the whole place. Quite a change from the opener, when there were probably 100 people out there. Got another one with the .410.
