Mosquito's are worse this year than I ever remember. Who uses one of these and what is your review of them ? How long does one of the little cannisters of fuel last ? Any other thoughts appreciated, Thanks !!!

I use them all last year. Wont hubt with out one .. i got two trips out of my caniter and changed the screen everytime..maybe 6 hrs a canister.. gotta get mine ready for this year

Worth whatever it costs and then some. They can't be beat when combined with a ground blind or a permanent stand.

i used one for the first tim ethos year, really like it so far. the gnats and whatever flying around the ground blind while i was scouting were terrible. about 15 minutes later, they were still around, but not on us at all.

I have used one for several years and it works very well. You can refill the butane fuel bottle with an easy modification, butane refill cans are cheap. And you can recharge the pads with permithrin 10% from tractor supply, add a little blue food coloring to it so you can see when the pad needs replenished.

Great device, works like a champ as long as the unit warms up first. Some loose patience the first 10-15 minutes.

Another thumb up vote. These things really work. I bought mine last year in an East Texas tree lease. I was in an old open blind and thought I'd turn it off just to save butane, and within 5 minutes I was getting covered up with mosquitoes. Turned it back on and they were gone!!

Well Ok, you guys convinced me. Stopped at Walmart on the way to the dove lease today and picked one up. I hunted this morning before buying it and the gnats were just swarming me. Got it at lunch time and hunted this afternoon. Fired it up and within 10-15 minutes, about 99% of them left me alone. Best $19.95 I've spent in a while. I just watched some YouTube video's and saw some guy recommend some wafer boards from China called ARS-MAT 12. Checked EBAY and they average $12-$13 bucks for 60 wafer boards. Another guy demo'd a way to add a fill port to the butane bottles to add butane from a bigger, cheaper bottle.

Of course, this is a "use at your own risk" tutorial, but here's a couple of cost effective hacks to save a bundle of money on butane cartridges and refurbishing the Thermacell wafers:
