Sweet 16 and a few boxes of 30 year old shells. Love the smell of that old gunpowder.

JC Higgins model 20 pump 12ga

Bought it for $70 earlier this year and have it a real nice refinish. I bet that suckers worth $75 now! But it shoots.

First year hunting. So pumped for Monday.

I'll have a 12 gauge CZ canvasback O/U and my daughter a Weatherby SA20 youth. Tagging off the above post. she has never had a failure to eject with light loads. About 500 rounds through itat this point.

I have an old 870 pump and a new Cordoba, not sure which one I should take grin

I know the pump would get better fuel mileage, but the Benelli is funner to drive!!

I used to have the weatherby SA-08 12GA as well. Cost me too much to dove hunt with; it would only eject the heavier shot shells (hi brass).

It comes with two pistons. One for light loads and one for heavy loads. The light load pistons will eject everything. I've put over 1,000 rounds through mine. If you've got the heavy piston in and you're shooting light loads then you've effectively got a single shot.
ive shot heavy 4s and light 7 1/2s in mine, bout 200 total rounds and haven't had any problem so far. I think I have the light piston in it.

Yea, we went out to the range today for our last practice shoot. Did the "dove course" and she went 29 for 50. I went 35 for 50. I know the real birds will be tougher but there is some hope for us. Either way, just getting to this point has already been a great bonding experience.

Just doing that bit of practice y'all are light years ahead of 95% of the dove hunters in Texas! Good luck and be safe! cheers

It's kind of cool to me to see what everyone picks as their favorites. Doesn't always have to be the prettiest or most expensive. I find as I get a little older my preference for "race guns" with synthetic stocks and inertia actions are giving way to wood furniture and 2 barrels.

good luck to all and be safe, enjoy the time afield with family and friends
