I take this opportunity to Thank Spanky, R.G.C. & Jordan, and Sethfish, for allowing me the priviledge and pleasure of sharing their company on two Saturday mornings during December in a duck blind.

The first weekend marked approximately 30 years since I had fired a shot at a duck, and just like the last hunt from so many years back, I was using a 10 gauge double on my re-introduction hunt.

As much as I enjoy hunting Big Game, waterfowl hunting is my first love when it comes to hunting.

You guys will never know how much those two mornings in the blind have meant to me.

I could not think of a better group of folks to have shared those hours with.

Hello CH WAL here. I saw the pictures of your 10 Ga. It looks to be an older weapon just like my bro in laws 10 Ga. I have a question and steel shot. Does it pattern well with steel be it an older gun? Have you had any problems with steel ect? I thank you in advance. W

I have not noticed any sort of problem.

The only real problem I had, was that the last time I hunted waterfowl before that first hunt this season, Lead was all that was used.

I found out real quick, that A, 1 3/4 ounce loads of #2 steel was the heaviest I could buy, with lead it would have been 2 ounces, and B despite what was posted about the one bird that I took down fairly far out, steel does not have the killing range of lead.

I would have given anything to have been able to use the copper plated #5 turkey loads that I have here at the house.

The excitement though was still there, the whistle of wings in the dark and the sounds of the calls.

The greatest part was that these two hunts were the first time I ever hunted where there was a retreiver being used.

For those that have been around her, RGC's dog Remmi is a really great dog to watch work. JMO.

I have met both Randy and Remmi. Remmi is a really nice dog. I have yet to see her work in the field but who knows maybe someday.

The reason I asked about the barrels and the steel shot, my cousin used an A-5 Browning 12 Ga for duck and geese. I had been telling him he better check to see if the steel was going to hurt it or not. Sure enough he got an acorn on the end of the barrel, just before the choke constriction. He still shoots it and pretty well I might add. I told him to just saw it off but he leaves it be. I will tell my Bro in law you have not had any troubles.
