Went to a proshop today to get a feel for buying a bow. The Hoyts were out of the picture because of price but I shot the Mathews Creed and the Bowtech Carbon Knight. Here's the problem... I have an opportunity to buy the creed at 600$ used or the bowtech carbon knight brand new for $550. The bowtech carbon knight is cheaper, new and was faster than the Mathews Creed but didn't have as smooth of a draw or better shot than the Creed. Not to mention the Carbon Knight had some vibration after the shot. So what I am saying is I need help choosing a bow. I cant decide what bow I want to buy. So I just wanted to ask some of yall who have had experience with these bows what yalls opinion was!

I would give up some speed to get a smoother, more accurate bow. Between the two I would get the Mathews, based on my own experience with Mathews and the fact it felt smoother to you.

Speed is over rated. go with the bow you like shooting best. Without a doubt. So many people get caught up on shooting a faster bow, they miss out on much better bows. I have yet to find one of the top end speed bows that has the feel and consistency I am looking for. Based on the OP, I would pick the Mathews. Based on my experience, I would pick the Mathews.... But I am biased because I shoot a Mathews And it isn't a fast one.

I'm a bowtech fan and if the Mathews shot better, than buy it.
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Speed bows often give up a lot of smoothness and shootability, milking out the most speed with harsh draw cycles and unforgiving valleys. I will take a smooth bow with a longer valley any day for a hunting bow over a less forgiving speed bow.
Shoot more than just 2 bows in making the decision, be it Mathews, Hoyt, Bowtech, Bear, Diamond, Mission..... There are some very smooth shooting bows out there. Some will say BS do not go there but the Cabela's Instigator which uses the Ice Man Cam is a smooth little shooting bow. Not a speed demon but smooth and quite like the Ice Man.

Just remember the used Mathews will not have a warranty with it. Had a guy come into the shop last night with a bow he shot a broken arrow out of. Cams were bent and basically he needs a new bow. He bought it used and does not have a warranty. If it had a warranty even though it was his fault the manufacture would of replaced the parts anyway.
Just something to keep in mind when buying used bows. Plus you don't know who the other person took care of their bow n
