What is the latest hot shotgun on the market? Need to pick one up to raffle off for our VFD. We usually get an 870 or something. Looking to stay around $700 or so.

Last "hot" shotgun I remember, although it's far from an 870

You could get a Yildiz over/under and stay well within your budget. They are solid, good looking guns. The price tag does not reflect the quality.

Those things look like a lot of fun, but I've read a lot of bad reports about them.

We found out that when it comes to raffles any gun will sell tickets, even an el cheapo will have people buying chances.

I would get one of the following brands because they are the most popular:

Tier 1: Beretta, Benelli, Browning
Tier 2: Remington, Winchester

I'm not saying those are the "best brands", just the most popular amongst the general population.

You can get a Browning Silver Hunter for that price and they are really nice shotguns. Most of the semi-auto's are going to be more than that.

Beretta A300 Outlander or Franchi Affinity for the autoloader at the upper end of your price range. For a little less, the Stoeger M3000 or the Weatherby SA-08.

I only have first hand experience with the Beretta, but all of those get decent reviews.

I wouldn't go with the KSG, Akdal, or Saiga. The Stoeger M3000 is supposed to run well. The Versa Max is in your price range.
