to the forum. I've seen some picture posts that show good results from others that feed protein in East Texas. The main thing to keep in mind is that the coons will really camp out on a protein feeder so you have to be proactive in putting out your traps or you'll be feeding them more than the deer.

Due to high rainfall and sandy type soils that leach minerals the eastern 1/3 of the state is nutritionally defficient. Even so, MONSTER deer are killed every year. If you can get your deer to eat it, it's a great choice.

I think we use Sportsman Choice Record Rack protein. 1400 acres in NW Polk County. I suspect the coons get most of it.

My friend has had giants around lake Palestine. Lots of people feed protein in areas out there.
