So I appologize in advance if this post is in the wrong place I just couldn't decide if it should be hunting or off topic as its a bit of both. I'm happy to say I finally took the plunge and asked my girl to Marry me! We're mostly done planning the wedding and are now onto honeymoons. We've discussed bora bora and other island resorts. We've discussed cruises and casinos as well but tonight while watching the outdoor channel we watched fallow hunting in Argentina and she was getting really into it with all the scenery and the lodge. I made a joke about how we should hunt for our honeymoon and she is seriously considering it! I have been an avid hunter all my life and have always wanted to do a resort hunt just to see what all the hubbub is about. I just wanna know if anyone had had any experience with this or even drop me some ideas so I can present them to the boss that would be great! Thanks in advance for any advice! I would prefer out of the country but Alaska would work just fine.

Namibia. They'll treat you like royalty and you can shoot countless numbers of species. BMD will vouch for me on this one.

Don't start letting your wife go hunting with you or it could turn into a habit.

NZ on the South Island do a combo hunt then a train trip out of Christchurch along the western coastline and thru the Alps. I was told that train trip is in the top 5 most scenic trips in the world. IIRC it is the Tranz Alpine???

My wife knew how much I love to hunt so when she decided we would get married in November she new the honeymoon would be a deer hunting trip. Lucky for me I had my own little place so nobody was allowed to be the week of the wedding or anniversary. Every year we got to my place and lock the gate. We hunt and just hang out together for a few days. Solitude with the one you love is priceless. Oh yeah! I she starts hunting with you it can start getting pricy.
Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

Why ruin a good hunting trip?
How come everybody I meet is a deer hunting expert?

I would say Caribou in Canada. Or other big game in Canada. Alaska would be my backup plan.

A good friend of mine did a bird hunt and wine county trip in Argentina for his wedding and honeymoon and loved it. Had a great time.

thanks for the ideas I was actually looking at NZ and looks pretty sweet. I have no problem hunting with my future wife I think being alone and doing something this powerful would help us in the long run. not a big fan of Africa tbh but I like the idea of NZ or south America.

Whats the wedding date? That'll have a lot to do with the possibilities.

It's in April 2015... I'm noticing not alot of game can be taken around those months other than exotics. Which isn't really a problem. Just gonna have more research to do.

New Zealand that will be the start of the fall season and very nice temps. I went the first week of April and had morning temps at or just below freezing while hunting. The later you go the colder it will get. There are no seasons or bag limts in NZ, you can hunt year round and as much as your checkbook can handle. Fishing can be fantastic also.

Hmm I got divorced once because of hunting... but I don't guess that applies to your situation. Well it could, but I won't go into that right now.

My fiancé is organizing a dove hunting reception after we get hitched. We'll say our vows during the morning, do the pics, then change out of the starched wranglers and put camo on and do the hunt. That evening we'll grill the doves along with some whitetail from last season, axis, and wild pig tenderloins along with a keg of beer to wash it all down. She did not want an engagement ring from me but a brand new 11-87. She got me a Weatherby Mk V 30.06 topped with a Zeiss scope. She's the best.

my wife and I had our 15th anniversary in New Zealand with Spey Creek outfitters hunting red stag, my wife loved it and even took a big stag herself on our anniversary day, would also recommend a trip to Namibia, Africa has it's own coolness to it, but not near as spectacular scenery as New Zealand, I've never been anywhere else that remotely compares to NZ

forgot to mention that we hunted in May in New Zealand, but from what I remember, April was the best time to catch the roar/rut

I'd be happy if my wife was interested in hunting. After 30 years of marriage, she's happy to let me hunt, but not really into it herself.

When Mrs. HnF and I got married I asked her where she wanted to go for a Honeymoon! At the time we were on a lease SW of San Saba. I had a travel trailer parked down there and it was bow season. Her answer: "Dinner tonight and let's go to the deer lease in the morning" I knew I was marrying the right one!
