I decided to buy a new 20ga pump for dove season this year. Nothing like waiting till the last minute. Any way I am considering these 3 so which of these would you choose:
1. Remington 870 Wingmaster 20ga 28" 2. Browning BPS 20ga 28" 3. Ithaca Model 37 20ga 28"

I would pick the Wingmaster just because it fits me perfect right out of the box. You can't go wrong with any of the 3. They're all top-notch.
Haha yea I polished that thing for hours.

Remington was a great gun back in 89.
I wouldn't give you a nickel for one today.

While y'all are throwing out recommendations, feel free to throw out places in DFW to purchase same. Right now I am leaning towards Ray's because they have the WM and BPS in stock so I can compare them side by side and their prices are better than BP Cab. And Acad.

Gander Mountain is $30 higher than Ray's, it is further away, I work in Oak Cliff and I see nothing about a rebate.

BPS everyday and twice on Sunday.
Remington quality control has gone down hill, but the wingmaster is still a nice shotgun. I just love the fit and finish of the Browning BPS, every time I pick up my buddies I think "why in the hell haven't I bought 1 of these yet?" They shoot great and run flawlessly, probably get one for turkey season next spring.
Oh, and you can load one right into the chamber: have the underside facing up, pull the forearm back, drop a round in on the carrier bars, then return the forearm.

I think the BPS is probably the best in terms of quality. As some have noted, Remington's quality control has dropped off in recent years. All that said, I'd still pick whichever one fits me the best.

From the specs there are two things that bother me about the BPS:
1. It is 1/2 lb heavier than the WM. 2. I'm not sure I want a shotgun that ejects the shells right at my feet.

It's strange you would say that since two of the guns you listed as possibilities are bottom eject.

All 3 are excellent choices; my order would be 1) older (1950's) Ithaca 37 2) 70's Wingmaster 3) BPS from any year
If buying new get the BPS. I am blessed, I have all 3 plus a model 12 in twenty gauge.

1. It is 1/2 lb heavier than the WM. 2. I'm not sure I want a shotgun that ejects the shells right at my feet. All three are very good guns and will give years of service. Yes Remington 870's are not what they use to be, but the wingmasters are still above all other 870's. The bottom eject guns do not eject at your feet. The spent hulls will for the most part land 1-2 feet in front of the muzzle. I have a WM and a 37 like both and use both. WM fits my body frame better, but the 37 is lighter. I say go with the gun that feels and fits YOU the best.

Older made Wingmaster any day I forgot to mention that in my post. The older Wingmasters are superior. Mine is an early 1970s model and it's been through it all. There's hardly any wear on the bolt or inside the receiver. My son will be the third generation to hunt with it when he outgrows his youth model.
Haha yea I polished that thing for hours.

I've had all 3 of them, they are all good guns. I'd rate them.. 1. Wingmaster 2. Ithaca 3. BPS The BPS is heavier and not as slick as a wingmaster or 37. A 37 is slick and light, but may be hard to find. The wingmaster is easiest to load when the dove action gets fast.

I also have all 3. I would say choice the one that feels the best to you, or you like the best for whatever reason.

I like a bottom-ejecting pump, makes collecting your empties much easier.

Your 1st Choice is the best Choice 1. Remington 870 Wing master 20ga 28" That is the way I am leaning right now but I hope to be able to look at them side by side before I make that decision. If the online specs are correct then the BPS is 3/4 lb heavier than the WM and that is a concern to me plus the WM is manufactured in the USA and the BPS in Japan according to one WEB site.
