I had a 4-pointer I cut loose a couple months ago and it was all jacked up. Still ran off, but you could tell it's leg was dislocated and not anything I could do for him. Still did not want to leave him there.

Hunting is easy..it's getting permission from your wife that is tough.

Never saved any had broken leg bones. Peacefully as I could I dispatched and tagged them. Lot of camp meat. Warden was informed, both commended us for it, but reminded us to follow the letter of law best possible. On doe hung and broke both front leg, shoe her well after dark with .22 and flashlight while her body was across the fence on neighbors land. Said 5 or violations could have been written.
