Also got drawn for Alligator Hunt at Guadalupe Delta. Have never been to Guadalupe Delta nor hunted alligators. Will take all the advise I can get. Thanks

I'm thinking of tanning it myself. From what I can tell on the internet, it doesn't look any diiferent than a a deer hide using a Lutan kit. I've done several deer hides myself and they came out great. It's a lot of work but I enjoyed it. I'm just trying to decide if I want to skin it for the leather or skin it with the scutes out (horn back) for a display.

Did they e-mail you the notification? I am anxiously awaiting any kind of notice from TPWD.

they gots some of dem dar dinasour lizards were I wonder about the woods. not aloud ta choot-em as pappy always says: catch an release yah, was down thar on one of me many hog hunts when got a callen from mother nature, so eased down ta the waters edge when it happened. dropped me drawers an this gator catches me by surprise let out a scream & released some crap both took off in different directions, first thing i seen when woke up from me nap twas limb line with a big ol cat pulled up me britches went about me busness. best wishes & safe hunting

My brother and I got skunked last year at JD Murphree, but it was probably one of the best memories him and I will have together. Really we were just unlucky, almost everyone got at least one gator. Bring your fishing poles too. Set your lines then fish. I got on a nice red and my brother landed an alligator gar. The area out there is amazing.

Congrats on the hunt!! I as well got drawn for JD Murphy 11th and 12th hunt. We went 3for3 last year on gators and it was my first ever kill (other than fish and 3d targets with the bow). Good luck and bring bug spray......lotssssdss of bugs..and gators
